Die Serien-Nr. - Listen von Selmer, sind nur gut um das Baujahr festzustellen.
Die Modelle können schon mal durcheinnander kommen.
Hatte mal dasselbe Problem, und habe mich an saxpics.com gewendet.
Habe folgende Antwort erhalten:
If it looks like a Mark VI and says "Mark VI" on the bell, I'd call it a Mark VI.
While the "official" Selmer serial number chart says that the Mark VII was introduced around s/n 220xxx, a) the Selmer serial number chart is junk when it comes to models (easy example: it doesn't list the Modele 28) and b) there was a lot of overlap, as there had been for all other Selmer models.
Bottom line: use the serial number chart to tell how old your horn is, not what model it is.
The newest Mark VI alto and tenor are generally accepted to be around s/n 243xxx. It would not surprise me to find an alto or tenor as late as 378xxx.
